Google Antigravity
Google Antigravity is Google's agent-first coding platform (desktop app, IDE, CLI and SDK), launched with Gemini 3 in Nov 2025 and rebuilt as Antigravity 2.0 in May 2026; it is free for individuals with weekly limits, with higher limits through Google AI Pro and Ultra.
Google Antigravity is Google's agent-first development platform: a desktop app for running several coding agents in parallel, a full agentic IDE, the Antigravity CLI and a Python SDK, available on macOS, Windows, Linux and Googlebook. Individuals can use it for $0 a month with weekly rate limits, and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers get quotas that refresh every five hours, as of Nov 6, 2026. It first launched alongside Gemini 3 on Nov 18, 2025, and Google rebuilt it as Antigravity 2.0 at Google I/O on May 19, 2026.
Antigravity is the natural pick if you want Google's newest models, such as Gemini 4 Argon, in a coding agent, or a free agent with no card required. If you want a mature editor with a choice of every frontier model, Cursor is the closer fit, and if you live in the terminal with Claude or GPT models, Claude Code and Codex are the main rivals. Antigravity also replaced Gemini CLI for individual users on Jun 18, 2026, and is where Google is folding Jules.

Source: Antigravity pricing and plans, read Nov 6, 2026. Google publishes no request counts for any plan; its docs say simple tasks get more prompts than complex ones. Pro and Ultra users can buy AI credits for use past the quota at Gemini Enterprise rates, or set overages to "Never" and wait. The Ultra prices are from TechCrunch's report of the May 2026 change, when Google added a $100 Ultra tier and cut the top one from $250 to $200.
Features
The Antigravity app. The 2.0 desktop app is a command center for agents rather than an editor: it runs several local agents in parallel across projects and workspaces, and can schedule messages for routine jobs (Google; TechCrunch, May 19, 2026).
The IDE. The original Antigravity is a full IDE with an agent manager, artifacts that show what an agent did, and agents that drive a browser to check front-end work (Google).
Antigravity CLI. A terminal agent written in Go that runs subagents in the background and shares state with the app, so a session started in one shows in the other (Google Developers Blog, May 19, 2026). It is the successor to Gemini CLI for individuals and imports its settings.
SDK and plugins. The Python SDK builds custom agents on the same harness, and a Plugin Marketplace opened on Oct 29, 2026 for sharing agents and tools.
Models
Antigravity runs on Gemini. Gemini 3.8 Flash is the core agent model on every plan, and Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers have had Gemini 4 Argon since Oct 13, 2026, which Google pitches at software engineering, legal and finance work and security. Google's own reported results for it are internal (a 35% rise in agentic code over four weeks, for example), not public benchmarks. Third-party models are listed only for Ultra.

Google Antigravity vs the alternatives
- Cursor: the editor to pick if you want every major model in one place and a long-settled feature set.
- Claude Code: pick it for Claude models in the terminal on a Claude plan.
- Codex: pick it if you already pay for ChatGPT, which includes it.
- Kiro: Amazon's spec-driven IDE, better if you want written requirements and a design before code.
- Windsurf: since Jun 2, 2026 Cognition's Devin Desktop, another agent command center built on an editor.
