Lovable

Lovable is an AI app builder that turns a chat prompt into a working web app with a built-in backend (Lovable Cloud); it is free with 5 build credits a day, and Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits as of Nov 6, 2026.

Lovable is an AI app builder: you describe a website or web app in chat, and Lovable writes it, gives it a database, sign-in and hosting through Lovable Cloud, and publishes it. The Free plan gives 5 build credits a day (up to 30 a month), and Pro starts at $25 a month for 100 credits, rising in steps to $2,250 for 10,000, as of Nov 6, 2026. Lovable says more than 60 million projects have been created on it since its Nov 2024 launch.

Lovable is a strong pick for founders, designers and marketers who want a real, hosted web app without writing code, and it lets you edit and download the code on paid plans. Developers who want full control of their stack are usually better served by Cursor or Claude Code. Among prompt-to-app builders, Replit covers more kinds of apps (mobile, dashboards, slides), Bolt has a more generous free token allowance, and v0 is tied to Vercel's Next.js hosting.

Source: Lovable subscription plans and plans and credits, read Nov 6, 2026. Yearly billing is about two months free ($250 a year for 100 Pro credits). Free publishes only to up to 10 invited people a project; Pro adds code editing and download, custom domains and credit rollover. Verified students and teachers get 50% off the 100-credit Pro plan for up to 12 months.

How Lovable credits work

Every message to Lovable's agent costs credits. In Plan mode a message costs 1 credit; in build mode the cost depends on the change, with Lovable's own examples running from 0.5 to 2 credits. Unused monthly credits roll over for two months on monthly plans, top-ups last 12 months, and daily grants expire at the end of each day. Running your app's backend and its AI features also uses credits, beyond the small monthly Cloud and AI grants.

Features

Agent. Lovable's agent, introduced in Jul 2025, works through a change in several steps instead of answering one prompt at a time, and Plan mode lets you agree the approach before it builds.

Lovable Cloud and AI. Since Sep 29, 2025, every app can have a built-in backend (database, sign-in, file storage) and AI features without connecting a separate service.

Business features. In Oct 2026 Lovable added deployment into your own AWS or Azure account, EU-only processing of AI requests, and tools to find customers for an app (Lovable blog).

Code you can take. Pro and higher plans can edit the code directly and download it, so a project is not locked in.

Growth as reported

Lovable reported reaching $100 million in annual recurring revenue in Jul 2025, eight months after launch. Bloomberg reported on Mar 12, 2026 that it had passed $400 million. On Aug 12, 2026 Lovable raised $400 million at a $13.3 billion valuation, led by Menlo Ventures with EQT's Scaleup Europe Fund, after a $200 million Series A at $1.8 billion in Jul 2025 and a $330 million Series B in Dec 2025. It said apps built on it get over 900 million visits a month.

Lovable vs the alternatives

  • Replit: broader (mobile apps, dashboards, slides) with Agent 4; Core is $20 a month.
  • Bolt: StackBlitz's builder, with 1 million free tokens a month and Pro at $25.
  • v0: Vercel's builder; best for Next.js apps you deploy on Vercel.
  • Cursor: for developers who want to own the code in a real editor.
