Recraft

Recraft is an AI design tool known for generating real vector (SVG) graphics, logos and brand-consistent images with its own V4.1 models, alongside partner models such as Nano Banana and GPT Image. It has a free plan for personal use, and paid plans start at $12 a month.

Recraft is an AI image and design tool built for graphic design work: its own models, led by Recraft V4.1 (May 14, 2026), can output true vector files (SVG) for logos, icons and illustrations, and its custom styles keep a brand's look consistent; it has a free plan for personal use and paid plans from $12 a month, or $10 billed yearly (as of Nov 6, 2026). Paid plans also include other makers' models, such as Nano Banana, Seedream, GPT Image and Flux, and video models on Pro.

Choose Recraft when you need editable vectors, a set of icons or illustrations in one style, mock-ups, or a logo you can scale. Choose something else for photorealistic or artistic images from a simple prompt (Midjourney, GPT Image, Nano Banana), text-heavy posters (Ideogram), or Adobe's workflow and Illustrator (Adobe Firefly). API. Recraft's own models cost from $0.007 an image (V4.1 Flash) to $0.04 (V4 and V3), with V4.1 from $0.035 and the cheapest vector model, V2, from $0.022; turning a PNG or JPG into SVG costs $0.01, as of Nov 6, 2026.

Features

Vector generation. Unlike most image generators, which only make pixels, Recraft's V4.1, V4 and V2 can return SVG files, so a logo or icon can be resized and edited in a vector editor. V4.1 Vector is the variant tuned for logos, typography and illustration.

Styles and brand consistency. You can save a custom style from up to 10 reference images (V4 Styles) and generate a whole set of images or icons in it, with fixed color palettes. Teams share these styles.

Design-focused variants. V4.1 Utility, per Recraft's launch post, favors flat lighting, front-facing composition and simple scenes for mock-ups and product shots, and V3 keeps exact text placement and inpainting and outpainting.

Studio tools. Background removal, upscaling, a vector editor, mock-up and ad generators, and a logo maker in beta, plus plugins for Figma, Framer and Google Slides.

Recraft vs the alternatives

On the Arena text-to-image leaderboard (updated Nov 2, 2026, read Nov 6), Recraft V4.1 Utility Pro scored 1169, about 28th, and Recraft V4.1 Pro 1132; OpenAI's top GPT Image entry scored 1427. Arena compares raster images by general preference and does not test vector output, Recraft's main strength.

  • Ideogram: the closest design rival, stronger focus on typography and layout control, but raster only.
  • Adobe Firefly: best if you already work in Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • GPT Image and Nano Banana: higher Arena scores for general images; both are also inside Recraft's paid plans.
  • Midjourney: for artistic images and mood boards rather than production assets.
