• ChatGPT AtlasChatGPT Atlas was OpenAI's AI web browser for macOS, launched on Oct 21, 2025 and shut down on Aug 9, 2026. Its agent and browsing features moved into the ChatGPT desktop app for Mac and Windows and a ChatGPT extension for Chrome.
• CometComet is Perplexity's AI web browser, free for everyone since Oct 2, 2025 and available on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android. Its built-in Comet Assistant can read pages and carry out tasks for you; the agent needs a paid Perplexity plan.
• Gemini in ChromeGemini in Chrome is Google's Gemini assistant built into the Chrome browser on Windows, Mac, Chromebook Plus and Android. It reads your open tabs and connects to Google apps; its agent, auto browse, is rolling out to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, first in the US.
• ManusManus is a general-purpose AI agent from Butterfly Effect that works on its own cloud computer to research, browse, build and write for you. It has a free plan with limited credits and paid Pro and Team plans; Meta's $2 billion purchase of it was blocked by China in Apr 2026, and Manus has run independently again since Aug 2026.
